We have been invited to create a performance for Vic and Sarah at the Wagga Art Gallery, the show is on this Saturday 24th from 6.30pm and would be well worth a look. I’m a bit nervous I must admit, we have never been involved in a performance before – but we have managed to keep our work photographic. See below for more details.

Innovative, collaborative and spontaneous: a unique experience is in store on Saturday 24 March, in 100 Notions from a Nation of Two – 9 Responses: A Performance Evening. In this one-off, never-to-be-repeated event, artists Vic and Sarah McEwan present a range of performances, including dance, music, poetry and much much more – all inspired by the exhibition 100 Notions from a Nation of Two, currently on display at Wagga Wagga Art Gallery.

100 Notions from a Nation of Two itself is an immersive, multimedia exhibition, a collaborative process-driven artwork created by Vic and Sarah McEwan over one hundred days. Their aural and video portraiture has been combined into an interactive installation that contains 401 minutes of sound and video, 720 drawings and 1014 computer files.

For this Performance Evening, Vic and Sarah have invited nine creative couples to generate performances in response to the exhibition. The invited couples have selected their favourite day from the one hundred contained in the work, and the results are guaranteed to be inspiring.

This vibrant and cutting-edge event will be held in the Margaret Carnegie Gallery at Wagga Wagga Art Gallery on Saturday 24 March, from 6.30pm until 9pm, with drinks and refreshments. It’s a free event, but reservations are essential available seating is limited. Please contact the Gallery to book your reservation – by phone (02 6926 9660), by email (gallery@wagga.nsw.gov.au), or in person at the Gallery Shop, in the Civic Centre.
